Into the Clouds

The reason why we give out one link per track is because we believe in a one-click-share future.
A link (URL) is accessible from anywhere, at any time and just with one click. It makes transferring copies of files from person to person seem outdated and rather silly.
Today was an interesting day in the move towards greater accessibility and convenience. First of all there was Amazon announcing its cloud-storage music service, where you upload your music into a digital locker and can access it from anywhere, at any time.
Secondly, there was a report by Juniper Research which predicted massive growth for streaming music in the next five years. Increased smartphone penetration, especially in the BRIC-countries, is likely to drive the demand for online accessibility up.
What this means for you
We live in a world where people love music and share what they love. We have made massive leaps in the last decades. We’ve gone from having to hold your phone to the speaker, to transferring a song via the internet, to just being able to share a URL. You can share and enjoy a song, together, at the click of a mouse-button.
To our ancestors, this would have been magic.
Official.fm is here to help you make that magic happen.
Every day. One song and one link at a time.
