It’s curation season!

We’re insanely excited to announce that OUR NEW HOME PAGE is up and running, so fresh so clean for summer 20-13!

What’s the idea behind the new home page?

It’s music content curated by humans to please humans. It’s all about quality not quantity.

So, what to expect?

A new series of playlists curated by artists and tastemakers we love: the home page will have music for any kind of mood you might be in, thanx to thematic playlists, secret gems, and timeless claaaaassssics. Matter of fact, let’s go through the 6 categories of music you’ll find on the home page.

I Got 6 On It
The special guest playlist, 6 songs carefully selected by talented artists and awesome people with interesting music taste. We begin with critically-acclaimed French trio Chateau Marmont, then follow with DJ Falcon, Is Tropical, Electric Youth, and Cameo Gallery among many others to be announced soon…it’s gon’ be a hot summer!

Track du Jour
Now that’s THE song you should not miss, the hidden gem with a little je ne sais quoi, the soon-to-be-a-hit masterpiece, the coup de maître.

Smooth Operator
This playlist is all about kicking back, relaxing, maybe reminiscing on the good old days…on the smooth tip, coast to coast, LA to Chicago.

In Da Club
Yo, gimme something to dance to!” – Dr. Dre, 1988.

Shuffled Music
This was originally called The Truffle Shuffle and it’s exactly what you think it is: amazing songs that didn’t fit the Smooth Operator or In Da Club playlists. It’s got a bit of everything, it sounds great at home, in the car, at the bbq or the skatepark…pretty much anywhere!

Back In The Day
You know what they say: classics never die!

Feature Update: Direct-Selling Stats in your Dashboard

Our most recent update allows users of the direct-to-fan selling feature to follow their sales and revenue in real time from the comfort of their dashboard, thanx to detailed statistics at the workspace, track, and playlist level.

Let’s take a closer look at this new set of analytics…

How do I access stats on my sales and revenue?

If you want to check the revenue stats for all releases from one of your workspaces, click on your workspace name in the left column of your dahsboard, then on “REVENUE” in the right column.

If you want to check revenue stats for a specific release, start by selecting the workspace and clicking on the title of the release (track or playlist), then click on “REVENUE”.

What information do these stats provide?

For each release you will get the following details:

- Price of the release

- Quantity of units sold

- Total revenue

- Breakdown of countries and cities where your release was purchased with revenue for each

- Sources/Referers: breakdown of websites where your release was purchased (Facebook, Twitter, blogs and so on) with revenue for each

Below is a preview of how your revenue panel looks like (click on the image for a larger view).

Further down the page, you will find the “REFERERS” section which breaks down revenue made for each source of purchase (click on the image for a larger view).

Can I check revenue stats for specific periods of time?

Yes! For each workspace and release, you can select the period of time you would like to check: all time, last 12 months, last 30 days, last 7 days, or last 24 hours.

Below is an example of stats for the “last 7 days” (click on the image for a larger view).

New Feature: More Music

Due to popular demand, we have introduced a feature that allows fans who land on your Promo Pages to discover more of your releases – ladies and gentlemen, say bonjour to the “More Music” feature!

What is the “More Music” feature?

A simple way to display your discography on the sidebar of your Promo Pages. It allows fans to hear more of your music and potentially buy more of your releases (if you use direct-to-fan selling). Catch their attention with your new track…then make them discover your discography :)

How do I activate this feature?

No worries here, you don’t have anything to do. Your releases will automatically appear on the sidebar of your public Promo Pages – from most recent to oldest release and with no duplicates.

How does it look?

The artwork covers of your releases will appear on the sidebar, under the track/playlist description. All fans need to do now is click on the releases they want to check out and they’ll be taken to their Promo Pages.


Feature Update: Workspaces

Our latest feature update focuses on simplifying the dashboard in order to give you more flexibility and clarity in managing, promoting, and selling your releases and catalog.

What’s new?

From now on there is one kind of workspace only – no differentiation between artist and label workspaces anymore.

I’m a label, what does it mean for me?

Nothing but good news :)

1. You can now sell tracks from any workspace you want (didn’t know you could sell songs/albums via Official.fm? Go HERE for info!).

2. Creating, promoting, and selling compilations is now much easier. Upload all the tracks from the compilation in one workspace, put them together in a playlist, customize the Promo Page and you’re good.

3. Uploading tracks on your label’s workspace will not automatically create a workspace for each artist anymore – say bye bye to confusing duplicates and unwanted extra workspaces.

4. You can now use one workspace to manage your label’s catalog or create workspaces for each of your artists (or a combination of both).

Will the transition to the new system make me lose content?

No! Rest assured: you will not lose a single track or playlist and all your Promo Pages and Official Pages will remain intact. Matter of fact, what your fans see will not change at all.

The changes only happen behind the scene: tracks in your dashboard that appeared in both your label and artist workspaces will now only appear in the artist workspaces.

You are of course free to reorganize your dashboard as you wish by drag-and-dropping tracks from one workspace to the other.

Feature Update: Official Pages

Good news! We have simplified the process for creating Official Pages, find all the details below.

Reminder – What is an Official Page

Your Official Page enables you to showcase your music catalogue in an eye-catching gallery layout. You can pick which releases (single tracks, eps, albums, or playlists) appear on it and customize your background and players to match your style.

How to create your Official Page

1. Head to your workspace by clicking on its name in the left column of your dashboard – you will see that things have changed a bit, your workspace has now an Official Page section.

2. Click on the ADD A TRACK OR A PLAYLIST menu and select the tracks and/or playlists you want to see appear on your Official Page (please note that the tracks/playlists must be public to be selected for the Official Page)…

…that’s all it takes…your Official Page has now been activated!

3. Head to your newly created Official Page and customize its background and players.
